The Board of Directors for the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce announced Shannon Buckmaster has become the new CEO of the Chamber. Member companies of the 400 companies should expect to be contacted by Buckmaster in the coming months to gather their insights and feedback on how to make this an even more vibrant business community.

In addition, she brings strong communication skills, including active listening, to understand and create positive outcomes. Her critical thinking and fresh ideas will be instrumental in creating a vibrant, relevant, Chamber community.”

She and her husband Paul are raising two children, Anna and Bennet, who attend the local schools. This knowledge and relationships with businesses and communities in the Chehalem Valley will be invaluable.”
Shannon has a BA from George Fox University and a Masters in Divinity from Yale University. After teaching for six years at George Fox University directly following graduate school, Shannon transitioned to sales leadership within Mary Kay Cosmetics. Here she lead several sales units to national success and educated the US Sales Force of up to 650,000 sales consultants in solid business principles of authentic relationships, profitability, team expansion, recruitment and retention, time management and compassionate support of charities through professional success. She has continued her professional success most recently in public speaking. Her main goal in this is to raise awareness for abuse victim recovery.
Ms. Buckmaster has served on the Board of Director for Newberg Area Habitat for Humanity, Newberg Noon Rotary and Petra Peacebuilders International. Shannon also serves as the Co-Chair for Tunes on Tuesday with the Young Professionals of Yamhill Valley. She is also a Yamhill County CASA, National Speaker Association Professional Speaker and Leadership Newberg participant.Shannon’s first priority is to learn more about the needs of members/businesses. She is drawn to this position because she loves living, doing business, and raising her family in Newberg and she’s invested in the success of this community. She invites input from our business partners and will reach out to members to encourage their suggestions and input. We believe with Shannon’s leadership that our Chamber will be relevant and instrumental in building a vibrant local economy.
